Bio
Patrik Jansson is a Professor of Computer Science at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, where he has been since 2011. He earned his PhD from Chalmers in 2000 and specializes in functional programming, domain-specific languages, and their applications in climate impact research and fusion optimization. Jansson leads projects like OptiFun, which focuses on optimizing fusion confinement designs, and has contributed to EU-funded initiatives such as GRA CeFUL (Global systems Rapid Assessment tools through Constraint FUnctional Languages). He teaches courses on Domain-Specific Languages of Mathematics and Functional Programming, along with Climate Impact Research. An active researcher, Jansson has published extensively in journals like the Journal of Plasma Physics and the Journal of Functional Programming. He shares insights about his work and academic activities on his professional website and is based at the EDIT building on the Johanneberg campus of Chalmers University.
